There are many different dangers of smoking. Some of these dangers are obvious, and others are not. Smoking cigarettes, especially menthols cause chaos within the human body. There are many people who believe that there is at least one form of safe tobacco, but this is not a fact. According to, there are over 7,000 chemicals found in cigarette smoke, and more than 70 of these chemicals have been linked to cancer. The 7,000 chemicals that are found in cigarette smoke cause secondhand smoke to be toxic and fatal.

Tobacco contains harmful and dangerous chemicals that are found naturally within the plant. Many of the other chemicals that are found within the plant are absorbed from fertilizers and soil that is used. There are several different chemicals that form during the manufacturing process of cigarettes.

The chemicals that a cigarette contain become more potent when the cigarette is lit. What ingredients make up a cigarette? Many people are aware that cigarettes are dangerous and harm the human body, but they do not know why. When people find out that cigarettes contain chemicals, such as carbon monoxide and ammonia. Other hazardous chemicals that cigarettes contain include:

  • Arsenic
  • Formaldehyde

This list is just to name a few chemicals that are introduced to the human body when a person decides to smoke. Many of these chemicals are found in products that are around the home. Carbon monoxide is found in car exhaust fumes, ammonia is found in many different household cleaners, acetone is found in many nail polish remover products, acetic acid is the active ingredient that is used in hair dye, arsenic is found in rat poisoning, formaldehyde is found in embalming fluid, lead is used in batteries, methanol is a common component of rocket fuel, and tar is used for paving roads.

Many people believe that cigar smoke is not as harmful as cigarette smoke, but this is not true. A lot of people believe that cigar and cigarette smoke are not the same for them because many people inhale cigarette smoke, and many people who smoke cigars may not inhale the smoke, and they do not smoke frequently, like many cigarette smokers.

What Are the Dangers of Cigar Smoking?

Looking at the facts, one cigar contains as much as a ½ ounce of tobacco at a minimum that is the equivalent of the amount of tobacco that is present in one whole pack of cigarettes. There are three primary dangers of smoking cigars which include:

  • Oral cancer
  • Heart disease

Symptoms of Smoking

There are many symptoms of smoking. A few of these risks include:

  • Irritability
  • Impatience
  • Hostility
  • Anxiety

Irritability: Irritability can be defined as feeling aggravated or agitated. People who are often aggravated have a bad or short temper and are grouchy.

Impatience: Impatience is something that everyone has experienced at least once. When someone is impatient, they are likely to become irritable and restless. Many people are impatient without the contribution of harmful cigarette smoke, so when the harmful toxins of tobacco cigarettes are added to this situation, small situations can escalate to major situations.

Hostility: When people act hostile, they are unfriendly and often have a negative outlook on many situations. People who become hostile due to the chemicals found in cigarettes are often aggressive and easily agitated.

Anxiety: Many people experience anxiety when they smoke cigarettes. Anxiety is when people feel worried or become nervous about many situations that may or may not occur within their daily lives.

Weak Immune System: People who smoke cigarettes are in danger and at high risk of respiratory infections. Cigarettes are responsible for many different autoimmune disease that include rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn’s disease. People who smoke cigarettes are more likely to develop type two diabetes by 30% to 40% more than people who do not smoke.

Bones: People who smoke cigarettes are at an increased risk for experiencing a decrease in bone density, and may later develop into osteoporosis.

Blood Vessels and Heart: Smoking tobacco cigarettes has many effects on the organs of the human body, especially the heart. Smoking can cause a person to have a heart attack that could damage their arteries, and a person may experience pain within the chest. High blood pressure could become a factor of worry in this situation. Other instances in this situation that can occur include:

  • Atherosclerosis
  • Aneurysms
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Coronary heart disease

The Big Question

There are some smokers who are not concerned about cigarettes because they believe they are safe because they use electronic cigarettes or smoke marijuana, also referred to as weed. There are many that many dangers of electronic cigarettes that many people are not aware of. Unlike cigarettes, electronic cigarettes do not have issues with third hand smoke which occurs when the toxic chemicals of a cigarette linger in the air once the cigarette is extinguished. Keep in mind that this does not mean that there are not any risks.

What Are the Risks of Marijuana?

The million dollar question is how bad is marijuana, and what are the risks? Many people glorify themselves and others who smoke weed because they think it’s an indication they are cool, and there are no health risks. This is where they are wrong. The most active ingredient in weed is THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) which causes the “high” feeling that many people are addicted to. There are short and long-term effects of marijuana.

Dangers of Electronic Cigarettes

The electronic cigarette or e-cigarette epidemic too many smokers in the world by storm. The year of 2000 was a great year for many smokers, or so they thought. The electronic cigarette is powered by a battery and uses nicotine liquid-filled cartridges. The nicotine cartridge is responsible for the inhalable mist that many people rant and rave about. Many smokers transitioned to the e-cigarette because it was said to be an alternative to tobacco cigarettes.

Many people thought the e-cigarette was the best thing since sliced bread because the cigarettes were accepted in public places, it didn’t disturb people in the home of smokers because there wasn’t a foul odor, and many people said the e-cigarette helped them quit smoking, but are these cigarettes that great? A few side effects of the electronic cigarette include:

  • Allergic reactions (swollen lips and itching)
  • Nose bleeds
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Chest pain
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Terrible cough
  • Dizziness

The best way to stay clear of all of these illnesses and diseases is never to smoke. People who currently smoke can reduce their chances of developing these illnesses and diseases by kicking the habit.
